Legacy Village will hold five outdoor Wildroots Modern Market events this summer, and has announced a new designated outdoor refreshment area program, at which guests can drink alcohol outdoors at select events and in designated areas.

LYNDHURST, Ohio -- Legacy Village management has announced that it has added a series of its popular Wildroots Modern Markets to its summer schedule of events, and that it will launch a designated outdoor refreshment area, at which patrons will be free -- at select events -- to bring alcoholic beverages outside of the establishments where those beverages were purchased.

The inaugural Wildroots Market was held last fall at Legacy Village, the lifestyle/retail center located on the northwest corner of Richmond and Cedar roads. The events feature more than 90 local makers, encompassing a wide range of handmade goods and art, selling their wares.

Wildroots Market will return on five dates this summer, with those makers selling home decor items, refurbished furniture, vintage goods, jewelry, contemporary and fine art, woodwork, glasswork, ceramics, leather goods and more.

The makers’ booths will line the Legacy Village streets from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 18, June 22, July 20, Aug. 24 and Sept. 21. The free, family- and dog-friendly events will include food trucks, live music and, from 10 to 11 a.m. on The Lawn, free barre3 workout classes.

“Wildroots Modern Market is more than an art market, it’s a lifestyle and a place to connect with talented artists and makers," Wildroots Market Manager Jacque Thompson said in a news release. “Each month, you can discover a different mix of quality local and handmade goods and art.”

The five Wildroots Modern Market events are among those that will feature the new designated outdoor refreshment area (DORA) program.

In conjunction with the City of Lyndhurst, patrons 21 and older may purchase and carry alcohol within a designated outdoor area during select events, which will also include Legacy Live summer concerts and Art in the Village.

To participate, guests can purchase an alcoholic beverage from one of the designated Legacy Village restaurants during the select events and enjoy it outdoors within the DORA boundaries, and at select Legacy Village retailers who allow it. DORA decal sticklers will be on the doors of participating retailers.

Participating restaurants include Bar Louie, California Pizza Kitchen, BRIO, Wild Mango and Granite City Food and Brewery. Alcoholic beverages must be carried in designated plastic cups. No cans, glass bottles or drinks brought into Legacy Village will be permitted.

DORA will only be active during designated special events. If an event is canceled as a result of rain or inclement weather, the DORA program will not be active.

The Legacy Live Concert Series will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday night, from May 24 through Aug. 31. The musical acts that will perform, and information about other upcoming Legacy Village events, can be found here.

Art in the Village will take place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 1 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 2.

“We are excited to be the exclusive DORA venue in Lyndhurst,” said Legacy Village General Manager Susan Windle. “Legacy Village has a diverse lineup of special events throughout the year, and we believe this will serve to enhance our guest experience.”
