PARMA, Ohio -- My family and I were shopping at a local pet supply store when my husband exclaimed: “Look! What’s that?” pointing under a shelf. Assuming it was a large bug or something equally gross, I backed up.
"Call it. I think it was a kitten," he said.
I couldn't believe it, but tried "here kitty, kitty" and out she came. My husband grabbed her and handed her to me.

We checked with a clerk, who had no idea where the kitten had come from, but offered to put her with the rescue cats up for adoption. We decided then and there that she had been sent for us to find or we were sent to find her.
Either way, we've loved Maya for seven years and she has been a great addition to our family.
