BRUNSWICK, OHIO- It was soooo cold. The first day of spring was also the day Kidder Elementary School third graders had a field trip. The day started out at 22 degrees and two buses took the students to the city complex first, where they went through the offices, saw the police department and jail and could get up close to some police and fire equipment.
It had warmed up to 30 when they arrived at Heritage Farm. Teachers Lea Ann Besancon, Karen Finn and Cameron Kolesar arrived in two buses and each took a group to the three “stations,” set up to show the students how different their lives would have been if they had arrived in March 1815, like the very first settlers. I was impressed by their questions and they were really great. They didn’t even seem to mind the cold.
