Three cars reported stolen: Avon Lake police blotter

AVON LAKE, Ohio

Stolen vehicles: Pinehurst Drive, Northwood Circle, Belmont Drive

Homeowners reported cars stolen on June 22 and June 24. A vehicle stolen from Strongsville was located on Belmont on June 24.

Disorderly conduct: Lake Road

On June 26, officers responded to Dogg House Bar and Grille for a man refusing to pay his bar tab and to leave. Multiple officers instructed the man to leave but he refused and became loud and aggressive. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct-persisting and obstructing official business. While in custody, the man refused to comply with booking procedures and officer’s directives. He was then transported to the hospital due to his levels of intoxication.

Theft: Pin Oak Parkway

On June 18, a facility manager reported a pallet of body sprays marked for destruction was taken during the early morning hours. The manager suspects that several employees were involved. The total retail value of the stolen body spray was $271,440.

Theft: Bridgeside Drive

On June 24, a resident reported a car had been gone through overnight and a black gym bag was stolen out of the trunk. The resident also advised that the bag contained a platinum wedding ring. The items were later located and returned to the owner.

Harassment: Somerset Lane

A resident filed a complaint against her neighbor for harassment on June 25.

Property damage: Webber Road

On June 25, Avon Lake Public Works Department reported multiple incidents of vandalism to Avon Lake Parks and Recreation buildings.

Disorderly conduct: Lake Road

An intoxicated male was lying on the ground behind a business on June 24.

Harassment: Woodfield Drive

On June 19, a man reported an ongoing harassment issue taking place on Woodfield Drive.

Personal injury: Lake Road

An elderly man fell down the stairs to the beach at Veteran’s Park on June 21. He was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

Drug investigation: Walker Road

On June 19, a Drug Mart employee reported a fraudulent prescription being called in over the phone.

Telecommunication harassment: Brunswick Drive

A woman reported receiving 25 unwanted text messages from her ex-husband on June 11.

Assault: Jaycox Road

On June 15, police responded to Sweetbriar Golf Course for an assault. Contact was made with both parties involved. This case will be forwarded to the prosecutor for review.

Assault: Electric Boulevard

Officers were dispatched to Resatar Park for a report of two juveniles being assaulted by a known juvenile on June 14. Medical attention was refused and the suspect was not on scene.

OVI: Moore Road

On June 16, police stopped a driver that crossed the center line multiple times and stopped in the middle of the intersection of Moore and Electric Blvd. The driver was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, OVI with prior conviction and driving in marked lanes.

Disturbance: Mull Avenue

Around 2:30 am on June 18, officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers met with an intoxicated female and sober male. The man said pushed him during their argument, but he did not wish to pursue charges.
