PAINESVILLE, Ohio - A Painesville Municipal Court judge set bond Tuesday for a Madison man accused of raping a young girl.
Michael C. Brown, 32, faces a first-degree felony of rape and a third-degree felony of gross sexual imposition, court records show.
The charges stem from an investigation that began last month after police received a complaint of an alleged sexual offense between a man, later identified as Brown, and an 8-year-old girl, Madison Township police said Wednesday in a press release.
Judge Michael Cicconetti set Brown’s bond at $250,000, police said. If he makes bond, Brown will be subject to house arrest and GPS monitoring, according to police.
Brown is expected to appear in Painesville Municipal Court for a preliminary hearing Dec. 26.
Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to call Det. Tim Doyle of the Madison Township Police Department at 440-428-2116.
