Shooting wounds woman in car in Maple Heights

MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — A woman was wounded in the head by a bullet fragment late Monday night while in her car, police say.

The 48-year-old woman was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center after the shooting. She was treated and released early Tuesday morning.

The shooting occurred just before 11 p.m. near the intersection of Clampher Road and Raymond Street, police say. When officers arrived, they found the woman wounded in her vehicle.

Witnesses tell police a small, silver compact car, possibly a Chevrolet, was seen in the area during the time of the shooting. Police say they have no description of possible suspects.
