Every Ohio city and county ranked for median age, youth, seniors: census estimates

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Seven Hills is Ohio’s oldest city, based on a median age of 52.1, more than 30 years older than Ohio’s youngest city, the college town of Oxford.

Seven Hills is also one of just 11 Ohio cities where at least one-fourth of the residents are age 65 and older. In Seven Hills, an estimated 26.6% of the residents are at least 65.

The other cities where at least a fourth of the residents are 65 are Columbiana (30.7%), Beachwood (29.8%), St. Clairsville (28.3%), Brookville (27.9%), Centerville (27.7%), Vermilion (26.7%), Huron (26.7%), Lyndhurst (26%), Dover (25.5%) and Pepper Pike (25.4%).

The estimates are from the Census Bureau’s five-year American Community Survey, taken from 2014 through 2018 and released in mid-December. They are the latest available estimates for all places in the United States. In some cases, the estimates differ from one-year estimates released earlier for places of at least 65,000. Villages are not shown because of high margins of error for smaller places.
