Cleveland, Ohio – Wine dinners and tastings coming up throughout Greater Cleveland include events at Grovewood Tavern, Western Reserve Wines, Little Italy Wines and Colonial Wine and Beverage:
Big Fat Cab dinner set: The Grovewood Tavern – which loves hosting wine- and beer-pairing dinners – will hold the 10th annual Big Fat Cab Wine Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20. Abby Miller of Vintage Wine Distributor will offer a primer on cabernet sauvignon. Wines on the table are all from California, except when noted:
- Ringbolt Cabernet Sauvignon Margaret River 2011, Australia.
- Parducci True Grit Cabernet Sauvignon, 2010.
- Frogs' Leap, 2011.
- Burgess "Library," 1998.
- St. Supéry Dollarhide Rance Limited Edition, 2010.

Western Reserve Wines tasting scheduled: Wine lovers will have the opportunity to sip wines from diverse regions all over the world the next two Saturdays at Western Reserve Wines. "Wines of the Southern Hemisphere" -- featuring vino from South America, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand -- is Jan. 18. "From the Alps to the Mediterranean - Great Italian Values" is Jan. 25. Tastings are $6 each and are 2-5 p.m. at Western Reserve Wines, 28300 Miles Road, Solon. Call 440-498-9463.
More lost treasures found: Little Italy Wines' recent tasting of "Lost Treasures" wines went so well that the shop is having another event of the same theme from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18. Wines being poured will come from the United States, Germany, France, Italy and Chile and include 2011 Richter Estate Riesling, Darkhorse Chardonnay, 2010 Enotria Barbera, 2008 Prince Rubis Bordeaux, Villa Cafaggio Chianti Classico Riserva and Bicentanario Reserve Carmenere.
