HUDSON, Ohio – Our brunch and breakfast series continues as we check out Hudson’s Restaurant & Catering. Here’s a look at what to expect:
Location + hours: 80 N. Main St., Hudson, 330-650-1955. It's at the northwest corner of N. Main and E. Streetsboro streets. Hours: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday-Saturday; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. (Breakfast is served until 1 p.m. on the weekends.)

About the place: Located in Hudson's quaint shopping district, with some street parking and nearby lot, the restaurant is close to a lot of shops. A comfortable, family place with wood accents throughout, the restaurant opened in 2006.
About the menu: We tried a filet and eggs - thick quality filet kabob, two eggs, home fries and toast. At $13 it’s the only thing above $10 on the breakfast menu. No skimping on the steak, either. Cre-Egg-Tions allow a create-your-own omelet that comes with a choice of three fillings from 24 options, from kale to gorgonzola to Italian sausage and corned beef ham. For those seeking a healthy approach, a "Doctor's order" section includes more than 10 heathy options like the Hudsonite Quinoa Bowl. The menu items are "hand-selected specifically for Hudson's Restaurant by the physicians and nutritionists at Western Reserve Hospital."
About the drinks: Full bar with Mimosas and Bloody Marys at the ready.
Don’t miss: Banana brunch pancakes. The banana is mixed into the batter, not just sliced on top. Granola also is mixed in, so it's a bit different from the more mundane slice-and-scoop approach many restaurants take to top their 'cakes.
