CLEVELAND, Ohio - The “Dom Eats Local” video series winds up its culinary treks in Birmingham, Alabama, as Dom Tesoriero becomes a Yankee fish out of water in the deep south.
Tesoriero's travels began in Cleveland and wound up in Birmingham, where he visits a James Beard-award-winning chef's restaurant and a classic barbecue joint where he learns the secrets of blending wood, smoke, salt and experience.
In the series, Tesoriero meets local food writers and restaurant owners to gain a feel for varying culinary flavors across the country. At each place, he dines, but he also heads into the kitchen to work.
