LAKEWOOD, Ohio -- 16-Bit Bar + Arcade has closed up its Lakewood location, with plans to move into Ohio City with Pins Mechanical Co. later this year.

The two entertainment businesses are both concepts under Columbus-based company Rise Brands. The new entertainment complex will be located at 1880-1890 West 25th St., in the former Daniels Furniture space.

They originally announced their plan to move forward with their shared Ohio City facility in early 2020, with plans to open last summer. Now, a timeline is set for the new space to open in the fall of 2021.

Back when those plans were announced, 16-Bit Bar + Arcade stated it would keep its Lakewood spot running, along with the new shared space in Ohio City. As of Sunday, March 27, the Lakewood location has closed after six years of business.

“We greatly appreciate everyone in Lakewood and beyond who have supported our brand and people for over 6 years,” 16-Bit stated on Facebook. “We will miss you, but we’re excited for you to see what’s next!”

16-Bit shared a video tour of its plans for the new space which will feature duckpin bowling from Pins Mechanical Co. and vintage arcade games from 16-Bit, scattered throughout a two-story building. The space will also feature a patio, bar spaces and dining areas.

Both 16-Bit Bar + Arcade and Pins Mechanical Co. have other locations -- seven each -- based in the Columbus area, with additional spots also open in Nashville, Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Charlotte.
