LAKEWOOD, Ohio -- Halloween is going to the dogs In Lakewood. Dress your dog to participate in LakewoodAlive’s 15th Spooky Pooch Parade from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 15, at Madison Park in Lakewood’s Birdtown Neighborhood.
The family-friendly costumed canine convention includes a free festival starting at 12:30 p.m. and a parade through nearby streets at 2 p.m. Dogs of all shapes and sizes wearing their scariest Halloween fashions will strut their stuff.
Awards will be given at 3:15 p.m. in the following categories ...
- best pooch & child
- best pooch & adult
- best pooch & group
- spookiest pooch
- best in show
Contestants must register and participate in the parade to be eligible to win a prize. Pre-registration is $10 per dog while day-of registration is $15 per dog. Multiple dog discounts are available with pre-registration only. Humans are free. Register your dog.
Dogs must remain on a non-retractable leash with a six-foot maximum. All dogs must wear I.D. tags at all times. No dogs in heat, no aggressive dogs. Rabies, PHLLP, and Bordetella vaccines must be current. No puppies under 4 months old or without vaccinations. Costumes must be safe and comfortable for dogs. Owners must be prepared to pick up after their dog.
