AKRON, Ohio - The Pretenders have added a second show happening on Wednesday, July 24 at The Goodyear Theater in Akron. Tickets for the second show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 29 at Ticketmaster.com.
The band, led by West Akron’s own Chrissie Hynde, sold out their initial Tuesday-night show in a matter of days. Now, fans who missed their brief window of opportunity are getting another chance to see the 2005 Rock and Roll Hall of Famers.
The band is touring behind their 12th studio album, “Relentless,” a mix of uptempo rockers and several signature Hynde ballads. The 12-track album was well-received and continues the band’s string of late-era, high-quality album releases including the more uptempo “Hate For Sale,” released in 2020.
The band is gearing up for a busy year of touring. In addition to their headlining tour of American theaters, the band will open several shows for the Foo Fighters summer stadium tour before heading to Europe for another headlining tour of theaters.
