Now “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace)” is the kahuna, leading a pack that includes new long-players from Common and Pete Rock, Enhypen, Hardy and Uncle Kracker, live sets from Billy Strings and Steve Earle, a new moniker for Sturgill Simpson and a fresh single by Katy Perry (all subject to change) ...

Album of the Week: Eminem, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace)” (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope): Twenty-five years after introducing us to his notorious alter ego, Eminem is sending him off the mortal coil on his 12th studio album -- and first of new material in four years. We’ve already heard the “Abracadabra”-sampling “Houdini” and the “Spider-Man” referencing “Tobey” (with Big Sean and Baby Tron); the full project -- 19 tracks, including three skits -- features even more surprises and guests, as well as production from longtime associations Dr. Dre and Luis Resto. The real end of Slim Shady? Who knows, but if it’s true it will feel so empty without him.
