CLEVELAND, Ohio - On Friday, the PNC Outdoor Stage at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will be infested with witches. Burning Witches, the Swedish-American heavy metal band touring behind its fifth full-length album, “The Dark Tower,” will perform at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 19. Pittsburgh band Lady Beast will open. Tickets for the show start at $25 and are available at rockhall.com.

Founded in 2015 by guitarist Romana Kalkuhl, who wanted to start an all-female band. Kalkuhl recruited bassist Jeanine Grob and drummer Lala Frischknecht and, as with many metal bands, over the years members have come and gone with current singer Laura Guldemond joining in 2019. In 2023, the band welcomed a new and their first American witch to their pyre. Courtney “CC Shred” Cox, formerly of the Iron Maiden tribute band Iron Maidens is a longtime friend of the band was asked by Kalkuhl to step in for then-lead guitarist Larissa Ernst while the latter took a break for maternity leave. But, though Ernst is back behind the scenes, Cox is the new lead shredder for Burning Witches who will celebrate their 10th anniversary in 2025, and has moved from her home in L.A. to Germany to be closer to the band.
