35 Brix: Northeast Ohio's best weekend brunches, breakfasts

GREEN, Ohio - Our brunch and breakfast series continues as we check out 35 Brix. Here's a look at what to expect:

Location + hours: Heritage Crossings Plaza, 3875 Massillon Road, Green, 330-899-9200. Sunday brunch is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. followed by dinner 4-9 p.m.

Menu or buffet? Menu.

What's near: It's a busy street, with the restaurant sharing space with Baby Sweet Pea's Boutique, Tom+Chee, Antonio's Pizza and Yoga Bliss. An Acme is in the same complex, so brunch and then shop.

Start your day: 35 Brix is 47 miles from downtown Cleveland and on the way to tourist spots in Canton. The Pro Football Hall of Fame is about 12 miles to the south. McKinley Presidential Library and Museum is 14 miles south of the restaurant.

What to expect: The message is loud and clear behind the long blue-lit bar and five televisions: Eat Drink Relax. The restaurant's name is a reference to wine's sugar content, by the way. At least eight servers were hustling on a casual Sunday morning. And there's clearly a cool artistic vibe, with glass art all around, from hanging bottles to stained works and more. The menu is limited with breakfast options but does offer lunch choices.

Tasty eats: The hearty Breakfast Burrito was a delicious start. The compact tomato-basil wrap is crammed with scrambled eggs, home fries, a bit of melted cheddar cheese and chorizo. Mild green salsa and sour cream are served on the side. It's not a messy amalgamation, just a tightly packed wrap. The Charleston is one of several Benedicts on the menu, this one featuring fried green tomatoes as the base with poached egg and crab meat. (You also can order the Crab Cake Benedict or the Eggs Benedict, the latter coming with grilled, thick-cut Canadian bacon.)

Don't miss: Black pepper grits. Creamy with a bit of brown sugar sprinkled on top to give it a sweet touch.
