Fresh Start Diner: Northeast Ohio's best weekend brunches, breakfasts

TWINSBURG, Ohio - Our brunch and breakfast series continues as we check out Fresh Start Diner. Here's a look at what to expect:

Location + hours: 9810 Ravenna Road, Twinsburg. It's west of Darrow Road, north of Interstate 480, and across from Twinsburg Public Square. Bob and Ken Wyman have owned the place for 13 years. Hours: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

What it's about: About eight counter seats plus about 20 tables. A wall in the back has a colorful mural depicting the history of Twinsburg.

Menu or buffet? Menu.

The menu: Multiple three-egg omelets come with choice of seven types of bread, and off-the-griddle options are available. All breakfast items are under $10. Pancakes and French Toast come in single, short- and full-stack sizes.

Don't miss: Menu items under "Other Breakfast Favorites." The Hollandaise sauce was done perfectly for the crab-cake Benedict, and Lucy's Vanilla Yogurt Parfait was smooth, creamy and fruit-loaded. (The home fries with the Benedicts actually are baked first, giving them a lighter and non-greasy texture.)

Sweet spot: A giant roll-up pancake is a 14-inch 'cake rolled with vanilla ice cream, choice of fruit topping, nuts or chocolate chips topped with whipped cream.

GF options: Gluten-free pancakes, waffles and French Toast are available.

Local nod: The bread comes from Davis Bakery.
