Noble Beast Brewing Co.: Northeast Ohio's best weekend brunches, breakfasts

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Our brunch and breakfast series continues as we check out Noble Beast Brewing Co. Here's a look at what to expect:

Location + hours: 1470 Lakeside Ave., Cleveland, across from WKYC Channel 3 and FBI headquarters. Brunch is served beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday. Parking is street meters and adjacent lot.

Menu or buffet? Menu.

The eats: The brunch menu is extremely limited - only five offerings - but tasty morning sandwiches are all priced at $10 or less and come with chips or slaw (fries or home fries are a buck more). The menu: Breakfast corndogs (apple-cinnamon sausage), egg, bagel and baguette sandwiches; and Sloppy Joe (chorizo, mozzarella, hard-boiled egg on challah bun).

Don't miss: Egg sandwich. This was a fantastic contrast in flavors: A soft, folded flatbread made from spent grain holds scrambled eggs and radish and herb salad with fromage blanc, a white cream-cheese like spread. It's a savory, chewy, sink-your-teeth-in delicious sandwich. Greens and eggs? They work great together.

About the space: Things hang in this space: Edison lights above the bar, a motorcycle, plants near a skylight, a large American flag. Garage doors open on a nice day for a breeze to swoosh through. Everything about Noble Beast is very transparent - the brewing equipment, the open dining room, the kitchen. The brewery opened in 2017.

Don't forget the beer: Noble Beast is a fine pairing of talents, with Shaun Yasaki in the brewhouse and James Redford in the kitchen. Switch from coffee to beer in an instant with a choice of samples poured in front of you.
