The Cheesecake Factory: Northeast Ohio’s best weekend brunches, breakfasts

LYNDHURST, Ohio - Our brunch and breakfast series continues as we check out The Cheesecake Factory. Here's a look at what to expect:

Location + hours: 24265 Cedar Road, Lyndhurst, in Legacy Village, 216-691-3387. Brunch is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on the weekends. (There also one in Crocker Park in Westlake.) Plenty of parking.

Menu or buffet? Menu.

About the place: Our guess is most people would not realize TCF has brunch. But the options are diverse, and it's a fine start to a Legacy Village shopping excursion.

About the menu: Definitely something for all types of palates. Cinnamon roll and lemon-ricotta pancakes are tempting treats among the 'cake offerings. Fried-chicken dishes include one with waffles and another as a benedict (a Belgian waffle topped with fried-chicken strips and poached eggs). There's also green chilaquiles with carnitas and eggs - slow-cooked pork or chicken with roasted poblano peppers, cheese, onions and cilantro with corn tortillas and tomatillo chile sauce.

Don't miss: Peanut butter and banana waffle sounds, looks, and tastes like a decadent dish. It's covered in warm peanut butter, fresh banana slices, is smothered with Nutella, and topped with nuts. It's worth all of its 1,530 calories.

Numbers game: Calorie figures are listed next to each menu description. And yes, this ominous line is at the bottom of the menu: "2,000 calories a day is used for general nutrition advice ..."

For the kids: A kids' brunch is a small order of French Toast or pancakes with bacon and fruit.

Egging you on: Among the omelette offerings is a create-your-own option that allows you to choose four of 16 fillings.
