MEDINA, Ohio - The fifth annual Senior Day will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. next Friday at the Medina Community Recreation Center, 855 Weymouth Road.
The Medina Community Recreation Center will host a free Senior Day Friday to share information about health and wellness with Medina County residents ages 55 and older.
Seniors 55 and older can receive health screenings and flu shots, visit with vendors offering senior services and enjoy refreshments and raffles.
The free event is open to all members of the senior community, not just recreation center members. Non-members will need to present a photo ID.
Cleveland Clinic's Medina Hospital will offer balance and stroke-risk screenings. Discount Drug Mart will provide blood glucose screenings and flu shots (free for Medicare patients).
More than 25 vendors will be on hand, including the recreation center, Medina Hospital, the Medina County Office for Older Adults, Discount Drug Mart, Life Care Center of Medina, Willowood Care Center in Brunswick, Avenue at Medina, Brookdale Medina North and South, Clear Captions, Costco, Eat N Park, Elmcroft Assisted Living and Memory Care, Griswold Home Care, Footsteps World Travel, Hospice of Medina County, Koewler Law Firm, Marie Edmonds Co. LPA, Medina County Clerk of Courts, Medina County Auditor, Medina County Treasurer, Medina County Hearing Aid Services LLC, Samaritan Care Center, Sanctuary Health Network, Simply EZ Home Delivery Meals, TLC Insurance Group, Waite Funeral Home, Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging, Western Reserve Masonic Community and Medina McDonald's.
The Medina County Transit Loop stops at the recreation center, and there is parking on site.
