The picture has more than 382,000 likes and 202,000 shares, including on national media. Kathy Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb showed the picture Monday on the Today show. Good Morning America also aired the story.
The baby fell asleep while the family waited in line to visit Santa at an Indiana mall. Santa asked the parents not to wake the 6-month-old, and the two cuddled up on a big green chair. Santa, with a copy of "The Night Before Christmas" tucked under his arm, pretended to be asleep for the picture.
"Everyone has been very kind," Walters told USA TODAY Network. "Most comments referred to how much the picture has brightened their day."
As for Santa, it was a far cry from the kids who scream on his lap. Click here to see photos of those moments.
