Another pizza restaurant robbed in Akron

AKRON, Ohio — A man armed with a handgun escaped with cash after robbing a Papa John’s restaurant Wednesday night near the Wallhaven area.

It’s the latest in a string of robberies targeting pizza restaurants and a delivery driver. Little Caesar’s locations were robbed three times in the same day on Tuesday.

Wednesday night’s robbery was reported at 8:30 p.m. at a Papa John’s at 1885 W. Market St., just east of the intersection with Frank Boulevard.

Workers tell police the suspect had a handgun and demanded money. He ran from the restaurant after getting an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is 30 to 40 years old, 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-2, weighing about 210 pounds. He was wearing a black ski mask and all black clothing.
