CLEVELAND, Ohio — Next season is it for the Cleveland “Indians.” What the team will be called after that is unknown.
On Monday, team owner Paul Dolan confirmed the “Indians” nickname will be dropped after the 2021 season, saying he reached the decision after months of talks with Native Americans and civil leaders. Don’t expect to see the “Cleveland Baseball Team” in the interim as it’s expected a new nickname will be chosen before the 2022 season. Meanwhile, vaccines for the coronavirus will begin in nursing homes three days earlier than expected. And a nationwide survey shows the pandemic is wearing down teachers.
