CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Neil Young and Crazy Horse’s “Love Earth Tour” is on hiatus while band members recover from an illness.

The U.S.-Canada tour will go on a “big unplanned break” as some members of the band recover from an unspecified illness, the band announced on its website Wednesday.

The decision to cancel the tour came after several members of the band became sick after performing in Detroit.

“We are still not fully recovered, so sadly our great tour will have a big unplanned break. We will try to play some of the dates we miss as time passes when we are ready to rock again!” the statement said.

The tour was announced this February, two years after the songwriter said he would not tour unless he was able to do so in an environmentally sustainable way.

Young and the band apologized to concert-goers excited to see the performance.

“Health is # 1. We want to stay and do more shows and more albums for you…. and for us,” the band said.
