LAS VEGAS, Nevada — English singer-songwriter Adele, one of the biggest music acts in the world for more than a decade, reportedly is ready to walk away from music and take a long break, saying her “tank is empty.”

Adele, 36, made her intentions known during an interview with German broadcaster ZDF, according to the Guardian. She has been performing regularly during a long residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas since November 2022. It will end this November.

Meanwhile, she also is performing 10 shows in Germany this summer.

According to CNN, Adele tells ZDF: “My tank is quite empty at the minute. I don’t have any plans for new music at all. I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”

Emphasizing her fatigue, Adele said, “You know, I don’t even sing at home at all. How strange is that?”

Adele’s debut album, “19,” was released in 2008 and was a huge success, leading to her winning a Grammy as Best New Artist. In 2011 she released “21,” which sold more than 31 million copies and set a U.S. record by topping the Billboard charts for 24 weeks. The record won six Grammys, including Album of the Year.

She had continued success with the release of “25″ in 2015 and “30″ in 2021, and she has sold more than 120 million records overall.

It’s made her one of the most recognizable stars in the world ... something of which she’s also grown weary.

“I miss everything about before I was famous, I think probably being anonymous the most,” she tells ZDF. “I like that I get to make music all the time, whenever I want to, and people are receptive to it and like it. That’s pretty unimaginable. But the fame side of it I absolutely hate.”
