A California grower has recalled its cauliflower and red and green lettuces after E.Coli bacteria was found in a water source near its Santa Maria farm. Some of the cauliflower was shipped directly to Ohio, and the lettuces were sent to distribution centers in other states. Still, it’s unknown whether some of those lettuces might end up in Ohio.
The produce was harvested in late November under the Adams Bros. Family Farms label. Consumers should contact their vendors to check carton tag numbers provided in the recall notification.
Those numbers are:

According to the announcement from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, “This bacteria may cause a diarrheal illness from which most healthy adults can recover completely within a week. Some people can develop a form of kidney failure called Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS). HUS is most likely to occur in young children and the elderly. The condition can lead to serious kidney damage and even death.
