Cleveland’s Top Workplaces contest extends deadline until Jan. 29

Marking its 12th year, cleveland.com and the Plain Dealer are partnering with Energage for the Top Workplaces 2021 launch.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The 12th annual Top Workplaces contest to recognize Northeast Ohio’s best employers, is offering an extension until Jan.29.

Energage, a culture technology firm that specializes in employee engagement and workplace improvement research, works with cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer on the much-anticipated annual rankings.

Energage surveyed more than 2 million employees at more than 7,000 organizations in 53 markets in the past year.

Last year, cleveland.com featured a record number of 175 nonprofits, firms, schools, and other organizations in Northeast Ohio.

Last year’s program, by the numbers:

  • Number of organizations invited: 1,860
  • Number of organizations surveyed: 275
  • Number of winners recognized: 175
  • Number of employees represented by surveyed organizations: 126,361
  • Number of employees invited to take the survey: 66,549
  • Number of employee survey responses: 43,089

The program aims to offer data to engage employees, showcase standout culture, and attract and maintain top talent.

So far, more than 100 companies in Northeast Ohio have signed up to participate in the employee survey program.

Here’s how it works:

Any public, private, non-profit, government organization with 35 or more employees in Northeast Ohio is still eligible to participate. Workplaces are evaluated by their employees using a 24-question survey. Companies will be surveyed through February.

The top employers in small, mid-size, and large categories will be recognized in a special section in the Plain Dealer and on cleveland.com. Winners will also be celebrated in special areas.
