COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Buckeye Breakfast is officially back for the 2017 season.

The first game of the season is 24 days away, but there has been a lot going on inside and outside of Ohio State.

One of its opponents this season suffered a major injury, the Buckeyes wrapped up their first week of fall camp with a scrimmage and the players have moved into their hotel for the rest of fall camp.

But there is plenty to dive into in Monday’s Buckeye Breakfast, including links to multiple stories, photos and videos.

Oklahoma loses a key receiver for the season

It’s still more than a month until Ohio State welcomes Oklahoma into Ohio Stadium for the second game of the season.

But new coach Lincoln Riley will be without one of his key contributors in his first road game leading the sooners. Wide receiver Nick Basquine suffered an Achilles injury on Friday and is out for the 2017 season.

Basquine was second among Oklahoma’s returners in receptions (20) and receiving yards (265), and he caught two touchdowns.

The injury leaves Baker Mayfield, who will already have to work with two new running backs this season, with one less veteran option to throw to.

The Sooners open the 2017 season at home vs. UTEP on Sept. 2.

OSU releases its first highlight tape of the fall

The first week of fall camp is in the books. And the football program dropped its first highlight reel of training camp full of a little of everything: high-intensity drills, great offensive and defensive plays in scrimmages and, of course, the circle drill.

A pair of true freshmen make some of the best moves in the video, with J.K. Dobbins showing his elusiveness and Shaun Wade making a heads-up interception off a tipped pass.

Big recruiting weekend for the Buckeyes

Ohio State added to its 2018 recruiting class as well as kicked off its 2019 class during the weekend.

The Buckeyes got things started on Friday when 2018 LB K'Vaughan Pope from Dinwiddie, Va., announced his commitment. Saturday night, 5-star OT Doug Nester from West Virginia became the first member of OSU's 2019 class.

Bill Landis broke down what Pope can add to the 2018 class, and how Nester will anchor the Buckeyes' 2019 class on the offensive line.

The Simpsons clip of the week

One of the things I always looked forward to as a kid on the weekends was a new episode of The Simpsons. I grew up on the show for most of my life and found that there seems to be a clip or quote for nearly every situation out there, including football.

The show will start its 29th season this fall and basically every major celebrity has appeared in at least one episode. Both prove that the series has great longevity and it's worked its way well into mainstream society.

Not to mention the classic episodes from the first 10 seasons are all worth rewatching.

So every Monday, we’ll end the Buckeye Breakfast with a random clip from the long-running cartoon series to start the week off with some laughs.

This week, we look at when The Simpsons paid homage to The Fugitive, at the expense of Milhouse.
