Teradja Mitchell prepares for senior season, Wisconsin sets up series with Notre Dame: Buckeye Breakfast

Ohio State commit Teradja Mitchell tweeted out a photo of himself slimming down for the start of his senior season.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State’s members of the 2018 recruiting class are about to get their senior seasons underway in the coming weeks. One of the Buckeyes already set for the start of their senior seasons is linebacker Teradja Mitchell from Virginia Beach.

The No. 2 inside linebacker in the country according to 247Sports.com, Mitchell tweeted a photo of himself slimmed down from his listed weight of 243 pounds.

Mitchell, who committed to the Buckeyes on June 2, and his Bishop Sullivan Catholic team will host American Heritage (Fla.), on Aug. 26 to open their season.

Wisconsin, Notre Dame agree to two-year series

Notre Dame and Ohio State already have a home-and-home series scheduled for 2022 and 2023. On Monday, the Fighting Irish agreed to a two-year series with another Big Ten foe in Wisconsin for 2020 and 2021. But the games will not take place at either school.

The game in 2020 will be at Lambeau Field and 2021’s matchup will be played at Soldier Field.

Ohio State announces walk-on tryouts

The Buckeyes gave two of their former walk-on players scholarships on Saturday.

Monday, the program tweeted out its invitation to anyone interested in walking onto the football team. Registration is on Aug. 22, and tryouts are on Aug. 25.

Auburn names Jarrett Stidham as starting QB

Auburn and coach Gus Malzahn have their starter at quarterback. The Tigers' coach named the Baylor transfer as the starting quarterback on Monday.

In 2015, Stidham threw for 1,265 yards and 12 touchdowns.

He started three games, but suffered a season-ending injury in Baylor’s 45-35 win vs. Oklahoma State. Stidham threw for 934 yards and six touchdowns to just two interceptions.
