Kirk Herbstreit, College GameDay crew joins Jimmy Kimmel

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live welcomed three members of the ESPN College GameDay crew when Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso and Desmond Howard joined the set on Monday night.

Corso told Kimmel about the story of the first time he put on a mascot head when he did his game predictions, a tradition that is a fixture of the college football Saturday.

The trio also shared their thoughts on the four playoff teams.

Larry Johnson named 247Sports.com's DL Coach of the Year

247Sports.com released a list of its position coaches of the year on Tuesday.

Ohio State defensive line coach Larry Johnson made the cut for the DL Coach of the Year.

Johnson is the only position coach from the Big Ten to be named a position coach of the year.

New coaches have things to sort out for early Signing Day

Several USC players limited with injuries as Cotton Bowl prep begins

USC’s preparation for the Cotton Bowl continued Tuesday without several important players.

Alicia de Artola of ReignOfTroy.com broke down the injury report for the Trojans, which includes running back Ronald Jones II not finishing practice and starting corner Jack Jones not practicing.

de Artola added that Ronald Jones’ situation wasn’t serious and that the team is being cautious with him.

USC loses its quarterbacks coach to Tennessee

USC will meet Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl without one of its important coaches.

USC coach Clay Helton confirmed to reporters including Joey Kaufman of the Orange County Register that Helton’s brother, Tyson Helton, has taken a job at Tennessee under new coach Jeremy Pruitt.

Kaufman also reported that Tyson Helton will not coach in the Cotton Bowl as he transitions to his new job at Tennessee.
