Michigan's Maurice Hurst to play in the Outback Bowl

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh made it official: Maurice Hurst will play in the Outback Bowl for the Wolverines vs. South Carolina.

Harbaugh confirmed the news to reporters including Aaron McMann of MLive.com.

Hurst is expected to be a high pick in this April’s NFL Draft.

He spoke earlier in the month that he was unsure if he was going to play in the game. He added that he planned on talking to former teammate Jake Butt, who tore his ACL in the Orange Bowl last year vs. Florida State.

Penn State's Micah Parsons moving to middle linebacker

Penn State landed the biggest prize among Big Ten teams on Wednesday when it got the signature of five-star defensive end Micah Parsons.

When Penn State coach James Franklin spoke to the media including Greg Pickel of PennLive.com, he explained that Parsons will start his career at middle linebacker.

Franklin said that it has to do with depth at the position and that he could play defensive end as well. But right off the bat, Parsons is a middle linebacker.

Lane Kiffin explains his 2-point conversion vs. Akron

Late in the third quarter of the Boca Raton Bowl vs. Akron on Tuesday night, Florida Atlantic coach Lane Kiffin decided to go for a two-point conversion.

They got it, and took a 36-3 lead.

The Owls ended up winning, 50-3.

After the game, Kiffin explained that the reason he went for two was because of something he overheard from an Akron staff member.

Is Kansas State coach Bill Snyder on the way out?

While teams across the country were signing players at the start of the Early Signing Period, Kansas State coach Bill Snyder didn’t offer much clarity on his job status.

He told reporters including Kellis Robinett of the Wichita Eagle that he doesn't know if he's coming back for the 2018 season.

Snyder will coach the Cactus Bowl vs. UCLA before deciding on his future.
