COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State freshmen Marcus Crowley and Ryan Jacoby added themselves to the list of newcomers to lose their black stripe on Monday.

Crowley came to Columbus as as a four-star recruit and though he won’t be the starter this season, he is competing with Steele Chambers, Demario McCall and Master Teague to be the No. 2 running back. Jacoby — also a four star recruit — is part of a deep offensive line that coach Greg Studrawa feels could potentially have two solid units. Both have been on campus since the start of spring camp. He has spent time with the second and third-team offensive lines during camp.

The two are the fourth and fifth players to lose their stripes this fall. Rutgers transfer Jonah Jackson is the only non-freshman to do so. Overall 15 players have lost their black stripes this year, including six players from the 2019 recruiting class.
