COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State basketball dropped to No. 5 in the new Associated Press Top 25 college basketball rankings following its first loss of the season on Sunday night at Minnesota.

Kansas takes over the top spot in the rankings after being the only top-five team not to lose last week. The Jayhawks are the fifth team to hold the No. 1 ranking this season and the first from the Big 12.

There are four new teams at the bottom of the top 25 AP Poll this week in No. 22 Washington, No. 23 Penn State, No. 24 Texas Tech and No. 25 West Virginia. Michigan dropped the most, from No. 5 to No. 14, while San Diego State rose the most going from No. 25 to No. 20.

The Nittany Lions’ addition to the poll gives the Big Ten five ranked teams, which is more than any other conference. No team in the Big Ten has won a conference game on the road yet this season. No. 15 Michigan State will face Northwestern on Wednesday. Should the Wildcats win, every team in the conference will be 1-1 after the early league games.
