Friday is decision day for four-star prospects Jordon Davison and Trajen Odom.
For Ohio State football, Odom seems to be the safer bet of the two to join the program’s top-rated 2025 class. The defensive lineman out of Matthews, North Carolina, has two Crystal Ball predictions from 247 Sports – both suggesting he’ll join coach Ryan Day’s roster in Columbus.
As for Davison, some doubt lingers. The running back out of Santa Ana, California, took an official visit to OSU last weekend. It wrapped up a four-week span in which Davison took official visits to Alabama, Oregon and Michigan before checking in with the Buckeyes.
Ohio State landed its first 2025 running back on June 4 when four-star Bo Jackson committed. That was followed by the commitment of four-star Isaiah West 12 days later.

Commitment day coming soon for four-star edge
Ohio State thought it would be waiting until late August to hear where four-star edge Damien Shanklin is heading. Instead, the 2025 prospect will be announcing his commitment on July 5.
Shanklin is down to Alabama, LSU and Ohio State, according to a post on his Instagram. He’s the top 2025 prospect out of Indiana, the No. 114 overall player and the No. 11 edge rusher, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
EA Sports College Football 25 continues sparking debate
For football-centric sports fans, the summer can be a drag. Soon-to-be-released video game EA Sports College Football 25 has helped pass the time.
This week, EA Sports has released various rankings which have spark debate. It started Tuesday when the 25 toughest environments were announced. Ohio State checked in at No. 4.
Thursday, ratings for the top offenses and defenses were put out. The Buckeyes own the top-rated defense (96 overall) while possessing the fifth-best offense (89).
OSU wasn’t at the heart of much debate on social media. Some other decisions, though, were questioned – including Southern California (86 overall) and Colorado (84) owning top-20 defenses. Last season, those programs allowed an average of nearly 35 points per game.
