Who will win the Sugar Bowl: Alabama vs. Clemson?

Four teams will be competing for the national championship starting Jan. 1. Two of those teams will face off in the Sugar Bowl: the Alabama Crimson Tide and Clemson Tigers. Alabama maintained a No. 1 ranking in the AP Poll for 12 straight weeks. Clemson has one of the toughest defenses in country, and a talented freshman quarterback. Who will win?

Alabama may not have played in the SEC championship, but that doesn't mean they aren't one of the top four teams in the country. Alabama lost its only game against Auburn with the SEC West title on the line, but before that, it was rolling through its schedule. The Crimson Tide were on an 11-game winning streak, and was AP No. 1 for 12 weeks. Quarterback Jalen Hurts' continued development has helped this team maintain its status as one of the best in country, and they will prove that with a win in the Sugar Bowl.

Even losing its best player from last year couldn't stop Clemson from being one of the best teams in the nation. Deshaun Watson's departure to the NFL was supposed to have been a bigger obstacle for the team, but Kelly Bryant has stepped in and guided the Tigers to another ACC Championship. It doesn't hurt that he has one of the best defenses backing him up that has given up only 12.8 points per game, which is second best in the country. Even with a new quarterback, Clemson finds itself in position to repeat as national champions. They will get that chance by beating Alabama once again in the playoffs.
