Man has a few broken ribs after being hit by train: Lakewood Police Blotter

LAKEWOOD

PROPERTY ACCIDENT, BELLE AVENUE: A man was struck by a train at approximately 10:30 p.m. on July 9. Responders arrived on the scene and found the man conscious and breathing. He was taken to Fairview Hospital. According to police, he suffered a couple of broken ribs. As of July 11, charges had not been filed and police were still investigating.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, COUTANT AVENUE: A man was cited for disorderly conduct while intoxicated shortly after 6 a.m. on July 10 after he was found lying in a front yard. The man also had a car stereo in his possession. Police are not sure where he got it.

FORGERY, DETROIT AVENUE: A woman was charged with illegally processing a drug document after she presented a fake prescription on July 10 at Walgreen's. It is a felony charge.

ROBBERY, GIEL AVENUE: Two men assaulted and robbed another man at gunpoint just before 9 p.m. on July 10. Police are still investigating.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT, BELLE AVENUE: Police were called when a vehicle crashed into pole just after 4 p.m. on July 9. Police said the driver, who suffered a few abrasions, lost control of the vehicle after becoming distracted by an incoming text message. The driver was cited for the incident.

VANDALISM, LAKE AVENUE: Police were called July 9 after the Cove United Methodist Church was found to have been spray-painted.

DANGEROUS DRUGS, CLIFTON BOULEVARD: A man was arrested on several drug-related charges after police found crack cocaine during a traffic stop on July 8.

FLEEING/ELUDING, CLIFTON BOULEVARD: Police following up on a robbery incident that occurred on July 7 near the intersection of Hird Avenue and Clifton Boulevard attempted to apprehend two suspects believed to be responsible on July 8. One of the men cooperated with officers. He was charged with robbery. The other man, however, fled. Police eventually chased him down and arrested him at a home on Idlewood Avenue, which he broke into in an attempt to hide. As a result, he was charged with robbery and burglary.

TRESPASSING, LAKE AVENUE: A man and woman were cited for trespassing on July 5 after police found them swimming by the break water at Lakewood Park. Six juveniles were also cited for trespassing at the park on July 6.

OBSTRUCTING, CLIFTON BOULEVARD:

A woman was arrested on petty theft charges during the early morning hours of July 5 after she tried to steal beer from CVS. She was also charged with obstructing police business, simple assault and disorderly conduct while intoxicated after she ran away from officers and then kicked an officer in the neck while they were trying to put her into a car.
