Quaker Steak tweets Lakewood location is slated to open in December

LAKEWOOD Wing eaters rejoice – it looks like the month of December just got a whole lot cooler.

It is no secret that Quaker Steak & Lube, the national restaurant chain known for its wings, is planning to move into the soon-to-be-renovated Discount Drug Mart Plaza, located in central Lakewood.

On July 13, the organization announced through its Twitter account that the Lakewood location will open at the end of the year.

"The Lakewood, Ohio location is set to open in December!," reads the tweet from TheOfficialQSL.

The plaza, owned by Canton-based Giltz and Associates, is slated for a $3-million dollar face lift. In addition to Quaker Steak moving in, Drug Mart will expand into the area formerly occupied by Sakura Japanese Restaurant.

Assistant Director of Planning and Development Dru Siley has been informed that renovation work will begin in mid-August.
