The second annual Gingerbread House Scavenger Hunt is right around the corner and set to kick off during the Dec. 3 Light Up Lakewood celebrations.

Area residents have spent time constructing creative gingerbread houses for the upcoming activity. Starting Dec. 3, the houses will be placed in storefronts of participating Downtown Lakewood businesses, adding even more holiday d cor to the already festive thoroughfare.

The gingerbread houses will be on display until Dec. 22, but judging will take place Dec. 15 for categories such as “Best Use of a Theme” and “Best in Show.”

As for the scavenger hunt, forms will be available at participating locations and both Lakewood Public Library branches. Completed forms may be turned in at any participating store or the LakewoodAlive office, 14701 Detroit Ave. Suite LL10, by Dec. 20. Those who correctly identify all the gingerbread houses will be entered into a raffle for a gift basket.
