This weekend marks the true kickoff for the holiday season in Lakewood. "
," the annual community event, will draw residents from all corners of the city to the downtown area along Detroit Avenue.
The festivities take place from 5-8 p.m. Dec. 3.
Here's a schedule for the evening:
At
5 p.m.
, the Winter Parade will step off at Bunts and Detroit, heading west toward Arthur and Detroit.
At
5:30 p.m.
, the Pied Piper Parade will depart the library and head east toward Lakewood Hospital. This parade will be led by Santa and the "Light Up Lakewood" King and Queen. The St. Edward Trash Talkers will greet the parade at the hospital.
The lighting ceremony will take place from
6-6:20 p.m.
and include local artistic presentations and the pulling of the "lighting switch."
From 6:25-8 p.m., the street festival events and activities will take over Detroit Avenue. See the

Beyond all the "LUL" fun, there are plenty of other sources of entertainment throughout the weekend.
The Beck Center for the Arts is presenting "
