CLEVELAND, Ohio — Relief from the heat and humidity arrives Monday, with forecasts from the National Weather Service calling for highs in the upper 70s with sunny skies.

It’s a chance to turn off the air-conditioning for a while, especially Monday night as temps dip to the low 60s with clear skies.

Extended forecast

The relief is brief. Highs will approach 90 degrees Tuesday with mostly sunny skies. There is a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon. The chances of showers and thunderstorms increase to 60% overnight and it will remain warm, with lows around 71 degrees. Highs will be in the mid-80s Wednesday with good chances of showers and thunderstorms. Highs drop back to the mid-70s Thursday with sunny skies, then climb back to the mid-80s Friday with sunny skies. Temps are expected to be in the low 90s Saturday, but will fall back to the low 80s on Sunday following another round of showers and thunderstorms.
