On top of that, we may also have to deal with a few stronger storms that may attempt to make their way into the Houston area from the west.

The Houston area is on the outer edge of a severe weather risk Tuesday. The greatest risk for seeing a stronger storm will be to the west of the immediate Houston area, but it is possible that a few stronger storms may try to make their way into Harris County and the immediate Houston area.

While the models haven’t been great in predicting the timing and placement of storms in the last few weather events, they are indicating that we may be dealing with storms at a similar time Tuesday to what we are dealing with Monday, around dinnertime or shortly afterwards.

While the severe threat is low, be aware if any stronger storms develop, they could carry damaging winds and perhaps some hail with them as well.

Potential tropical mischief?

Its over a week out, but there are some indications that there could be potential development in the tropics beginning next week.

A plume of moisture is starting to head north from the Caribbean into parts of the Gulf of Mexico. While the exact placement of this plume of moisture will need to be watched over the coming days, at the very least, someone could be getting a lot of rain come next week. Florida in particular looks to receive a lot of rainfall, potentially over a foot of rain thanks to this plume of moisture.

While unclear right now, it is also possible that there could be a tropical system develop out of this plume of moisture. This is something we will watch closely over the coming days.
