Laura Bailey, interviewee 'In London's Portobello neighbourhood The Tin Shed is the best place for double espressos. I hop off my bike while on the school run or after work, and on more leisurely days it's where I meet my girlfriends for breakfast.' Kalle Gustafsson, photographer 'Just around the corner from where I live in Stockholm is Il Caffé. It's a hole-in-the-wall with a couple of tables out back. It's one of few places that allows dogs so I drop by with my beagle every morning before heading to my studio.' Kalle shoots for 'Vogue' and Paul Smith and travels about 200 days a year

Raffaella Barker, writer 'At Rock Pool café in Mousehole, Cornwall, I succumb to nostalgia and order the cream tea - loose-leaf tea served in a tin teapot with a proper scone and clotted cream dished up on traditional Cornish pottery. The glittering sea view is as good as anything on the Côte d'Azur.' Raffaella is the author of nine novels and her latest book 'From a Distance' is out now in paperback

Tom Parker, photographer 'The Indian Coffee House in Chandigarh is unchanged since it opened in 1971. The four types of coffee are served by waiters in military-style uniforms and turbans. The mahogany interiors attract the city's academics where they solve the world's problems over a milky brew.' Tom is working on a photographic book on the development of modern India

Olivia Cole, writer 'McNally Jackson on Prince Street, New York, is always one of my first stops when in the city. It's a leading independent bookshop with a café. Like all great coffee shops, it makes you feel like a local instead of someone passing through; they encourage customers to read possible purchases.' Olivia is the literary editor for 'GQ' and is working on a novel about journalist Sheilah Graham
