Kim Kardashian has given fans the backstory to her gruesome finger injury.

On the latest episode of Hulu's The Kardashians, the entrepreneur and mother of four, 43, revealed how she broke the index and middle fingers on her left hand to the point that bone was exposed. According to Kardashian, she was distracted by her eight-year-old son, Saint, while at home, while she was closing a sliding door. Kardashian had previously shared a quick peek of her bandaged fingers on TikTok earlier this year.

"My big sliding door in my bathroom that opens up," Kardashian said on the show. "I was shutting it and there’s no latch. You have to pull the inside of the mechanics out."

But while Kardashian "pulled it really hard," her first son entered the room with chips, although it was past snacktime hours.

"Saint ran in with chips," the SKIMS founder continued. "And I’m like, 'It’s 8:30 at night, no chips!'"

In the same moment, the sliding door "went boom" on Kardashian's hand and what she saw shocked her to the point of collapsing.

"I literally looked at my hand and I fell to the ground," Kardashian recalled, adding in a confessional scene, "I just grabbed the table and got on my knees because I just saw all this blood."

But while Kardashian is also a mother to North, 11, Chicago, seven, and Psalm, five, with ex-husband Kanye West, the injury was more painful than the birth of her first two children. Chicago and Psalm were born via surrogacy.

"The pain is horrible," Kardashian added about her broken fingers. "You can’t describe the pain, but your whole body goes in shock. It was more painful than childbirth."

Eventually scheduling an appointment with her plastic surgeon, Kardashian described the wound as a "floating piece of bone," also confirming that the "tip broke off" of her index finger.

"And he’s like, 'It's a possibility that your nail will never grow back,'" Kardashian said about her doctor's response.

But the setback hasn't stopped Kardashian from dreaming up new business moves, as she joked that she'll "invent a nail implant" if necessary.

"I have shit to do," she said in a confessional. "This isn't going to slow me down."

Kardashian followed the episode with an update about her fingers, writing that this has been her "first week without my bandaids."
