Have you vowed to never again date a Scorpio Mars? Are Gemini placements a deal breaker for you? Are you searching for a lover with a steady earth sign Venus? While a few dating apps, like Bumble and Lex, let you see your potential date’s Sun sign before you message them (and in Bumble’s case, filter out certain Sun signs), let’s be real: You really need to see someone’s whole birth chart to determine if you’re truly astrologically compatible.
Of course, there’s an app for that. Actually, there are several! In the past few years, we’ve seen the release of a wave of dating apps that match you based on a variety of astrological factors. (And if you don’t actually know your birth time, don’t worry—each app has a workaround of some kind.) While a few buzzy astro-dating apps have shut down since their launch (RIP, Struck 😢), if you’re looking to date astrologically, you still have options. Let’s go!

Stars Align
The newest app on this list, Stars Align gives you and your potential match a 1 to 10 rating based on your astrological compatibility, plus it lets you take a peek at your date’s birth chart before you swipe. There’s also detailed insight on your *own* birth chart.
Already coupled up? You can search for astrologically compatible friends and even work connections too.
Another new arrival, Oromoon launched in March 2021. And unlike other apps on this list, Oromoon gives you just a few “stars”—aka potential dates—to view each day. (Or potential friends—you can choose to look for friendship, a relationship, or something casual.)
Profiles show you each potential match’s Sun, Moon, and Rising signs and give you a quick synastry reading. Other highlights include a personal “archetype” description based on your chart (mine: the Modest Sage) and an alert telling you when the next Mercury Retrograde is (v impt info!!!).
You might already have The Pattern on your phone for its scarily accurate horoscopes. Well, in spring 2021, the app added a dating feature to the app, called Connect. Simply click on the Connect icon at the bottom of your screen and you’ll get a selection of astrologically minded daters to swipe through.
While The Pattern doesn’t show you these cuties’ birth charts, it does give you a detailed analysis of your cosmic “connections,” “frustrations,” and “trials” to read over before you swipe.
NUiT is designed for both astro beginners and astro experts as well as people with different levels of comfort sharing their birth info—you can choose to share your whole birth chart with potential matches or, if you’re private about that, only your Sun and Rising signs.
No matter how much info your potential date shares, NUiT gives you 10 different compatibility scores for each profile: I took a look at one Libra’s deets and found that we scored high on “friendship” and “kindness and supportiveness” but low on “magnetism” and “romance.” Friend-zoned by the stars!
Astrodita gives you and your potential match one compatibility score of 1 to 5 plus additional scores and detailed explanations for seven different compatibility factors, like “communication” and “philosophy of life.” Before you download: Astrodita has only two gender options, “male” and “female,” whereas the other apps on this list have options for non-binary folks too.
