Two fugitives were apprehended in Bridgeport Wednesday in connection with two separate shootings in New York.

Both suspects, a man and a juvenile, were found hiding out at a residence on Myron Avenue where multiple law enforcement agencies discovered a .40 caliber Glock with an extended magazine, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

The adult suspect, identified as 19-year-old Edwin Delacruz, and the juvenile were taken into custody by the Connecticut Violent Fugitive Task Force, Connecticut State Police, New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force and members of the Bridgeport and New York Police Departments.

Officials said charges tied to the firearm that was recovered are pending.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Delacruz is wanted in connection with a May 22, 2022, shooting reported at 2270 Walton Ave. in Bronx, New York. Members of the New York Police Department located the victim, who survived the shooting, and later arrested Delacruz the following month.

The U.S. Marshals Service said Delacruz never returned to court and was wanted as a fugitive.

The juvenile arrested in Bridgeport Wednesday was wanted in connection with a double shooting on Jan. 12 in a store located at 85 Fordham Road in Bronx, New York, the marshals service said. New York authorities hold a warrant charging him in the shooting, according to officials.

Following the apprehensions, Delacruz and the juvenile were transported to the Bridgeport Police Department. They are awaiting extradition back to New York.
