Police are investigating after a man was allegedly found dead under “suspicious circumstances” in a Connecticut motel room, officials said.

Wethersfield officers received a call just before 6 a.m. on Saturday from an individual at a Motel 6, located at 1341 Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield. The caller told police there was a man who appeared dead in a room. Upon arrival, officers determined the man was dead and requested the assistance of the Wethersfield Detective Division to begin investigating.

Police are calling the death “suspicious” and have requested the assistance of the Connecticut State Police Central District Major Crime Squad to assist in the investigation under the direction of the New Britain State’s Attorney Office. The man’s identity is being withheld at this time, until his family is notified, police said.

Police said this an isolated incident and said there is no threat to the public.
