Biden should not quit

No, President Biden should not halt his re-election campaign. He should accept his party’s nomination and then be soundly defeated in the November election.

— Marc Russell, Los Angeles

Of course, Joe should step aside for the country

It’s a consensus nationwide Democrats or Republicans that President Biden should not seek another term. The Biden family has decided to encourage Joe to press on with the campaign. I feel bad for Joe. He is not 100% and won’t be able to be president 24/7. That’s not fair to Joe or the American people. What the Biden family is having Joe do is elder abuse. Move a younger, stronger Democratic candidate in quickly and let the American people have a fair choice.

— Bob Kelchner, Torrance

Please, no

Absolutely not. That would make “Giggles” the president.

Biden should quit

Not only should Biden quit the campaign but he should voluntarily resign immediately as medically unable to serve as president. If he does not voluntarily resign then the VP and the Cabinet should obey the 25th Amendment to the Constitution and replace President Biden with initially Vice President Harris as acting president.  By law President Harris would inherit all the primary votes of President Biden and would by law be the presumptive nominee. Our nation should wish our ailing President Biden well in his final days of retirement. Follow the Constitution. That’s democracy.

— Burton Roseman, Van Nuys

Biden, do not step down

I want Biden to run and to win. He has done a great job over the last 3 1/2 years. One debate with a liar and convicted criminal definitely does not change my mind.

— Therese Manocchio, Glendale

The time to quit is now

Biden should drop out of the race. He should release his delegates and have an exciting brokered convention for the Democrats.

— Richard Metzger, Porter Ranch
