Call Her Daddy star Alex Cooper has sparked a viral debate after sharing her favorite pasta recipe - while revealing one very unique ingredient that she uses to make it.

The 29-year-old podcaster caused a foodie meltdown when she first posted her 'girl recipe' dinner on TikTok, where she boasts more than 1.8 million followers.

'This is one of my girl dinners but I just know that people are going to be like, "That's f***ing disgusting,' Alex - who inked a $60 million three-year podcast deal with Spotify in 2022 - admitted to the camera as she began preparing the quirky dish.

She went on to explain that her now-husband, Matt Kaplan, point blank refuses to even try the pasta dish, joking that she was seizing the opportunity to enjoy it at home while he was out for dinner.

'I have a feeling that people are going to be like, "That's repulsive..." It's disgusting for some [but] it's soup for the soul for me!'

She went on to show off the special sauce for her pasta: Progresso's White Clam Sauce with Garlic and Herb, noting that, 'My mom raised me on this.'

'Matt looks at it, [and] he's like, "clams in a can - could never be me,"' she said while laughing.

'And I'm like, "could always be me." It's disgusting to some. It's soup for the soul for me.

'Let me show you the can. Before you judge, shut up. When Matt is away, Alex will play. Okay? Like, don't all freak out at once. So this is it. My clam sauce,' she said, while holding it up proudly.

Alex then showed viewers the two pots that she was heating up on her stove - one for the spaghetti and the other for the clam sauce.

'This is about to go on and then I'm going to stir it up,' she explained after pouring the clam sauce into a pan. 'Then I'm going to put a little parmesan cheese, obviously not real parmesan cheese [but] Kraft parmesan cheese.'

She then issued a warning to anyone watching the video, saying: 'Judgment - it's not for this page. There are pages where I truly believe you could infiltrate and, do some real good work.

'This clam sauce is not - it is not - to be disrespected. This is my childhood, and this is my stomach.

'Ninety per cent of my stomach is rotting with Progresso clam sauce.'

As she stirred the pot, she jokingly referred to herself as the popular cook, Betty Crocker.

Once the spaghetti was ready, she used a fuzzy sock as her pot holder, and drained the pasta, while placing her face in the steamed air.

She placed the pasta on a plate, and then she poured the clam sauce over it, telling viewers: 'Now comes the fun part.'

After sloshing the clam sauce onto the plate of pasta, Alex topped it off with a sprinkle of cheese from a plastic container.

'I'm not going to lie, it doesn't look amazing,' she conceded while stirring the mixture together. 'But the taste of this? You guys, you don't understand.

'The happiness this brings me, it's so good you guys.'

As she dotingly delved into the pasta, she rhetorically asked viewers: 'Is it gross to eat on here?'

She captioned her video: 'Please tell me someone else eats this.'

Her clip got more than 910,800 views, 67,000 likes, and 919 mixed comments.

Some of her followers were fans of the unique meal, and others even grew up on the meal as well.

One person wrote: 'I’m getting.. *seafood linguine on a budget.*'

A second person added: 'My mom also raised me on this canned clam sauce.'

A third person commented: "Linguine with clam sauce" was a delicacy to me as a kid.'

A fourth person wrote: 'I too was raised on this Progresso clam sauce, and I have a shellfish allergy now, but I still CRAVE it.'

A fifth person added: 'Yes, yes, yes! This was mine and my siblings' favorite meal growing up. We called it spaghetti and clams!'

One person jokingly commented: 'I almost, *ALMOST* judged it, but then remembered I like spam meat in a can so…off to buy clams in a can and try this!'

Other followers weren't on board with the meal idea.

One person wrote: 'No disrespect, but I had food poisoning from canned clam sauce as a kid LOL.'

A second person commented: 'The little pieces of clam is repulsive. I’m sorry hahahah.'

A third person added: 'Alex, you do you girl - that sauce is grey hahahaha.'

However, Alex would not be deterred - even going as far to post another video of herself enjoying the dish just a few weeks ago.

In May she posted a video of herself devouring the spaghetti on TikTok and said: 'We're about to eat my favorite pasta dish. Holy f***, with the side of wine. Cheers.

Alex was not deterred by the criticism of her meal, even sharing another video of herself eating the dish last month

'Where did I buy this gorgeous, gorgeous meal from? I made it, from a can. Matt thinks it's the most disgusting thing.

'I think it's the most glorious, beautiful thing. Growing up, my mom did not cook. It was always my dad cooking.

'So whenever my dad was away, because he traveled a lot, my mom was always just, like, "pasta or microwave? That's literally all I have to offer you guys."

'She would always just make my siblings and I Stouffer's microwavables - I'm obsessed.

'The Swedish meatballs - bomb. The macaroni beef - bomb. The Turkey and mashed potatoes - bomb. I was a Stouffer's microwave child.'

She continued: 'And then my dad would come home and cook us a delicious meal, but something that my mom would always make that was like my comfort meal, is this.

'It is garlic and herb white clam sauce from a can from Progresso, and whenever Matt is not eating with me, this is my girl dinner.

'I always tell Matt, if he was served this at a restaurant, he would love it - it's just because he knows it's from a can, that he can't eat it.

'It's literally like - if I'm sick, if I'm in a bad mood, this is just the go-to.

'It's so weird that you have those things from childhood that even as you get older, and you introduce [it] to people as an adult, they're like "what?"

Alex added: 'It just never gets old. I mean, it looks insane. No? It kind of looks like Cacio e Pepe.

'Funny, because Matt and I talk about our childhoods a lot, and I'm like, "oh, pasta was my thing."

'My parents were always giving us pasta, and for Matt, it was rice.

'And I just never feel like I had rice growing up. It was always pasta.

'It's so f****** bomb. Cheers. This is literally making me sweat, but it's a good sweat.

'Wow. I wish I could trick Matt into eating this. I'm fully f****** sweating. I love pasta when it's super hot.'

Her second video got more than four million views, 234,000 likes, and 2,523 comments.

She captioned the clip: 'Don't knock it till you try it please.'
