  • Shop your partner's closet, embrace your bump and have fun with footwear

Dressing comfortable and stylish during pregnancy in the summer months can be challenging for most women but doesn't seem to be an issue for celebs like Jenna Dewan.

The actress and dancer is pregnant with baby number three, her second with Steve Kazee, and she's looking better than ever.

While celebrating the Cybex x Jeremy Scott Car Collection in West Hollywood, Jenna showed off her burgeoning belly in a printed dress by Saylor.

The stretchy smocked poplin midi dress in a colorful floral print is not part of a maternity collection.

To break out of the usual maternity rut we reached out to LA-based fashion and personal stylist Kasia Michaels for some helpful tips on how to beat the heat without compromising on style.

'Long gone are the days when expecting moms have to rely solely on traditional maternity clothes,' says Kasia.

'Today, pregnant women want to stay stylish, cool, and sexy, and with oversized fashions still trending, achieving this look has never been easier.'

The expert reveals three very helpful tips for dressing cool when temperatures heat up.

Tip 1: Shop your partner's closet

'If you prefer not to buy a whole new wardrobe for a few pregnancy months, consider exploring your husband's closet.

'His button-down shirts, t-shirts, jeans, belts, and blazers can be your go-to pieces. Masculine, oversized styles are in, making it simple to style your bump without breaking the bank.'

Tip 2:  Highlight your curves

'You don’t have to wear loose clothing if you don’t want to. Embrace your bump and show it off with form-fitting knit and crochet dresses,' says Kasia.

'These options will hug your body, offering both style and comfort.'

Many stars are taking a cue from Kim Kardashian's maternity playbook.

The reality star led the way in showing the beauty of a bump wearing fitted garments as opposed to loose ones.

Tip 3: Have fun with your footwear

'Rhinestone or mesh ballet flats, big chunky leather sandals, or fun sneakers can make even a simple outfit stylish and exciting,' shares Kasia.

Spotted on the streets of Los Angeles before co-hosting The Talk, the Jenna looked chic in a monochromatic ensemble.

She wore a white Zimmermann crochet mini dress that featured long sleeves and an above the knee hem that put her dancer's legs on display.

She accessorized with white sunglasses and matching Stuart Weitzman Skyhigh 145 Platform Pumps in white satin.

Tip 4: Embrace silk

'Comfort is key when you're expecting, so look for fluid, soft-to-the-touch, and breathable fabrics like cotton, silk, and linen,' shares Kasia.

The expert loves styling her clients in silk pajama-style pants with a linen button-down or a silk slip dress.

'These styles will keep you cool, and the fluidity of the fabric will complement your bump without adding unnecessary volume.

'For the evening, consider body-hugging dresses or slip silk dresses in neutral colors for the chicest effect.

'Pair these with a tailored blazer for an added touch of sophistication. There's nothing more appealing than an expecting mom who feels confident and sexy.'

Tip 5: Forget old fashioned maternity rules

'Don't limit yourself to the traditional Empire Line dress silhouette,' urges Kasia.

'Embrace the latest trends, such as pairing a silk midi skirt with a cotton waistcoat or fitted top, even while pregnant.'

Jenna attended the Fashion Trust U.S. Awards looking incredible in a 100% silk Cult Gaia feather-trim Raisa maxi dress featuring side cutouts that accentuated her waist with a bralette-like top that teased her cleavage.

Along with of-the-moment silhouettes, covering up your bump completely is a thing of the past.

'I wouldn't style my expecting client in a cropped top for the office or a restaurant,' shares Kasia.

'However, I do love the look of a bump peeking through a halfway-open button-down shirt paired with jeans, or being fully displayed with cute crochet pants at the beach.'
