I splashed out on a $70 manicure - and was left with nails that look like crayons

A woman has filmed her reaction after an expensive $70 manicure left her with 'offensive' nails that she said looking like children's coloring crayons.

Kaylyn Hill from Colorado Springs couldn't help but burst into tears after she splashed her cash on the disappointing manicure.

As she filmed herself sobbing in her car, the mother of one said she was 'really distraught' at the result, despite telling her nail technician they were 'super cute' and even gave her a tip.

In a video on her TikTok account @kaylyn.hill that has racked up more than 700,000 views, Kaylyn said she'd be 'crying for the next six years' and would never get her nails done again.

Kaylyn, 23, said: 'It's not funny, it's not funny. I'm actually really distraught.

'You know that audio that's like, "This is what I wanted... and this is what I got"? I'm having that moment right now.

'I thought I did my due diligence, it was a lady in her home. I blame my sister. My sister is younger than me and she was like, "You have to go to an in-home person because it's better."

'I looked at her work and her work looked great. We communicated about what I wanted and she said she could do it.

'Without further ado, here's my nails that I just paid $70 for and I'm gonna take off tonight.'

Kaylyn revealed the photo she'd shown to the nail tech for inspiration, which featured perfectly manicured almond shaped nails with a chrome finish and colored tips.

She then filmed the nails she'd been given, which were uneven, blotchy and definitely didn't have a chrome finish.

Through her tears, she compared her nails to Crayola crayons and Skittles sweets.

A devastated Kaylyn continued: 'They're not even. There's so much glue on my thumb and I can't get it off. So hopefully that explains why I'm sobbing.

'You might ask, why did you pay for them? Because you could not hold a gun to my head and make me tell this woman I didn't like my nails. And honestly that's a me problem!

'I know they're just nails but that's a lot of money. Never ever ever ever ever getting my nails done again.'

Kaylyn, who is mother to her daughter Aurora, received a lot of support from her followers, who were shocked at the poor quality of her manicure.

They said: 'Omg those are OFFENSIVE';

'Idk why you’re getting roasted in the comments, I would be crying too. $70 is a lot';

'As a people pleaser, I understand. You deserve the nails you wanted though, bestie';

'When you’ve waited a long time to treat yourself, and $70 is all you have for that.. it’s so disappointing when they’re wrong. I feel for you so bad ♥️♥️';

'Girl you need to go back in to her & get your money back.'

Others were less sympathetic, and thought she was overreacting.

They added: 'I think its just because your nail bed is so short.. Its not gonna look the same if your nail beds arent even similar..';

'My kids and I might have to live in my van next month. I'm really distraught. you're fine.'

Kaylyn isn't the only one who's had problems with her nail technician in recent months.

Merel Kempel, from Sydney, Australia, took to her TikTok @merelkempell8 to showcase her nails.

She said that her nail technician took four hours to do her basic white acrylics - after which her cuticles were bleeding and nails looked like 'AirPod cases'.
